Women's Hockey dismantles Badgers 8-0

Box Score The Lancer women's hockey team opened up 2013 with a dominating 8-0 win over the Brock Badgers on Saturday afternoon at the Seymour Hannah Centre in St. Catharines, ON.
 
Leading the Lancers offense was Jenny MacKnight who tied her career-high four points adding two goals and two assists.
 
Alyssa Baldin registered three points in the victory with one goal and two assists. Krysten Bortolotti (1G-1A), Candice Chevalier (1G-1A), Ally Strickland (2G), Courtney Spoors (2A) and Adalena Tridico(2A) all contributed with two points each.
 
Adding single markers were Canadace Kourounis, Bree Polci, Lindsay Hoogstraten, and Jillian Rops.
 
In goal, Karlyle Robinson recorded the shutout with 16 saves for her 10th win of the year. Brock's Emily Kelly suffered the loss allowing four goals on 14 shots. In the second period, Claire Shaw replaced Kelly, giving up four goals on 17 shots.
 
After the first period of play, Windsor was leading the score 2-0. Windsor would add four goals in the second period and another two in the third on route to an 8-0 win. The Lancers outshot the Badgers 31-16.
 
Windsor will head to Guelph Sunday to face the Gryphons, before returning home for a rare Friday night game against their rivals the Laurier Golden Hawks on January 18th at 7:10pm at South Windsor Arena.
