Lancers shut out by Gryphons

Box Score Twenty-four hours after dominating the Brock Badgers 8-0, the Lancer women's hockey team found themselves shut-out by their opponents, as they fell 2-0 to the Guelph Gryphons on Sunday afternoon in Guelph.

Windsor is now 10-7-2 and in fifth place in the OUA standings as they head back home this Friday to host their rivals the Laurier Golden Hawks.

After a scoreless first period, OUA leading scorer Amanda Parkins found the back of the net at 1:05 of the middle stanza to give the hosts a 1-0 lead.

The score remained unchanged until early in the third period when Jessica Pinkerton beat Windsor goaltender Karlyle Robinson with a short handed goal at 5:44 of the final period.

Despite a number of chances, the Lancers were unable to get on the scoreboard. Robinson made 16 saves in the loss.

The Lancers return home for a rare Friday night game, when they face the No. 4 ranked Laurier Golden Hawks on Rivalry Night. The pucks drops at 7:10pm at South Windsor Arena.
