Women's Hockey blanks Warriors

Box Score The Lancer women's hockey team shut out the Waterloo Warriors 2-0 on Sunday afternoon at the Columbia Ice Field in Waterloo, ON.

With the win, Windsor is 11-8-2 on the season and continues to remain in fifth place in the OUA standings.

The Lancers jumped on the board quickly, scoring just 0.38 into the game. Krysten Bortolotti accepted a pass from Natalie Barette, and caught Warrior goaltender Rebecca Bouwhuis off guard to score her sixth of the season.

The score remained unchanged until early in the middle stanza when captain Alyssa Baldin put Windsor up by two at 2:50 of the period. Jenny MacKnight and Courtney Spoors were credited with the assists.

Goaltender Karlyle Robinson was solid between the pipes making 24 saves to earn the win. The Lancers out-shot the home school 31-24.

Windsor returns home next weekend when they host the Toronto Varsity Blues on Saturday January 26th at 4:10pm at South Windsor Arena.
