Box Score TORONTO- The Windsor Lancers men's volleyball team dropped both their matches this past weekend, falling to the York Lions and McMaster Marauders on Friday and Saturday respectively.
The Windsor Lancers lost in straight sets (25-15, 25-17, 25-14) to the York Lions on Friday.
Greg Simone tallied a team-high nine kills, while
Kyle Williamson and
Shawn Reaume added six kills each for the Lancers (3-10). The Lancers maintained a .105 hitting percentage, while York garnered a .425 kill efficiency and were led by Marko Dakic who picked up a game-high 10 kills.
The task got significantly more difficult for the Lancers on Saturday night, as they head to Hamilton for a match against the CIS No. 2 ranked McMaster Marauders. However, things looked up for the men as they managed to take the first set from the Marauders. However, McMaster quickly turned the tide, taking the next three sets to grab a 3-1 (23-25, 25-14, 25-22, 25-17) victory.
Williamson picked up a team-high 13 kills and 19 points in a losing cause for the Lancers, who will look to get back in the win column next weekend at the St. Denis Centre. Windsor will host the Toronto Varsity Blues and Ryerson Rams on Friday and Saturday respectively, with both games getting underway at 8:00 p.m.
