Lancers fall to Lions and Marauders

Box Score TORONTO- The Windsor Lancers women's volleyball team lost a pair of matches this past weekend, dropping games to York and McMaster on the road.

The women dropped their first road game of the weekend on Friday night, falling to the York Lions 3-1 (25-18, 19-25, 25-21, 25-14).  Senior outside Kaila Seguin picked up a team-high 15 kills in a losing cause for the Lancers.  Rookie Shannon Dean added 11 points and 14 digs, as the women garnered a .065 kill percentage, compared to the Lions who worked at a .171 efficiency.  Brandie Wilkerson and Melissa Humana-Paredes grabbed a match-high 16 points each to help the Lions to victory. 

In their second match of the weekend, the Lancers lost in straight sets (25-15, 25-13, 25-19) to the McMaster Marauders on Saturday evening. Seguin led the team's scoring for the second night in a row, tallying eight kills on the night.  Elizabeth Vandeborn, Taylor Fitzgerald and Shannon Dean all added four points each for the Lancers, who recorded a team hitting percentage of .049 compared to .211 from the hosts. 

The Lancers will look to get back in the win column next weekend, when they head back to the St. Denis Centre.  Windsor will host the Toronto Varsity Blues on Friday, February 1, and are back on the court the following evening when they take on the Ryerson Rams.  Both games are set for 6:00 p.m.
