Lancer Volleyball defeats Western in London

Box Score The Lancer women's volleyball team earned a 3-1 (25-15, 25-20, 21-25, 25-18) win over the host Western Mustangs on Friday night in London, ON.

With the win, the Lancers are now 5-3 on the season and are currently sitting in first place in the OUA west division.

The Lancers took the first set 25-20, but not without a good battle from the Mustangs. However in the second, Windsor took advantage of Western's shaky defense and technical errors, to earn a 25-15 win.

The Mustangs came out strong in the third and took their first lead of the game just after the technical time out, and earned the win in the third set.

Using a skilled offense, the Lancers rebounded in the fourth set and easily earned the 25-18 win for the game.

Fifth year hitter Kaila Seguin led the Blue & Gold with 16 kills and 18.5 points, while Danielle Lenarduzzi had a perfect kill percentage on five attempts and 35 set assists. Defensively, Hannah Robson and Mackenzie Coyle were a force to be reckoned with, pulling in 16 and 13 digs, respectively.

For the Mustangs, Serena Smith led the host school with 16 kills, while Kenzie Macdonald had 18 digs.

The Lancers will return to the court next Saturday afternoon when they host the Brock Badgers at 1:00pm at the St. Denis Centre.
