Women's Basketball
The defending national champion and CIS No. 1 Windsor Lancers women's basketball team dominated the Western Mustangs 78-50 in the OUA West Semi-Final last Saturday evening. The women will welcome the McMaster Marauders to the St. Denis Centre this Saturday night for the West final. A victory would clinch the Lancers a spot in the CIS Final 8 as well as the OUA Finals, which they would host the following weekend. The Marauders upset the former No. 8 ranked Brock Badgers in St. Catharines last Saturday to earn a date with Windsor. Tickets for the game are $10 for adults, $8 for youth and senior, and $2 for University of Windsor students.
Men's Hockey
The Windsor Lancers men's hockey team continues to roll in the 2013 playoffs, as the recorded their second series sweep of the post-season by eliminating the Guelph Gryphons in two straight games in the OUA West Semi-Finals. Led by standout goaltender Parker Van Buskirk, the Lancers picked up a 2-1 victory at Windsor Arena and followed that with a 1-0 series clincher at Guelph this past Saturday evening. Van Buskirk has stopped 126 of 130 shots through the first two series', garnering a league-leading 0.969 save percentage. The men will take on Waterloo in the OUA West final series this week, with a spot in the CIS Championship as well as the Queen's Cup on the line. Tickets for both home games are $8 for adults, $5 for youth and senior, and $2 for University of Windsor students with valid ID.
Men's Basketball
The Windsor Lancers men's basketball team earned a spot in the OUA Wilson Cup Final Four for the first time since 2009-10 by dominating the Brock Badgers 85-61 last Saturday night in the conference Quarter-Finals at the St. Denis Centre. The victory earned Windsor a trip to the Mattamy Athletic Centre at Ryerson University, where the best teams in the conference will do battle for the OUA banner as well as a trip to the CIS Final 8. The men will take on Ottawa in the second Semi-Final of the night on Friday at 8:00 p.m. The winner of that game will clinch a berth in the national championships coming up the following weekend in Ottawa, as well as a place in the Wilson Cup Final on Saturday. Friday's game will be tape delayed and can be watched at 10:00 p.m. on The Score Television Network.
