Windsor bounces RMC on "Get Your Pink On" Day

Box Score WINDSOR, Ont.- Kaila Seguin scored a game-high 22.5 points, leading the Windsor Lancers women's volleyball team to a 3-1 (23-25,25-16,25-14,26-24) victory over the RMC Paladins on Breast Cancer Awareness Day at the St. Denis Centre Saturday evening.

The fifth-year veteran notched a game-best 21 kills and garnered a .400 hitting percentage for the Lancers while adding nine digs and 1.5 blocks on the afternoon. Shannon Dean also hit double-digits for Windsor, tallying 10 kills, 2.5 blocks and a couple of aces in helping the Lancers recover from a slow start.

Less than 24 hours after going the distance with Queen's and coming out victorious, the Lancers dropped the opening set to the visitors in front of a bright crowd on "Get Your Pink On" day at St. Denis. However, Windsor quickly regrouped with a convincing second set victory that sparked them to their eighth win of the season.

Jennifer Straver tallied seven kills, while Hannah Robson grabbed a game-high 21 digs. Danielle Lenarduzzi totalled 38 set assists and five kills. Chelsey Litjens tallied a team-best 16 kills in a losing cause for the Paladins, who lost their third straight match.

The victory moves the Lancers (8-5) into a tie for second place in the OUA West division with the McMaster Marauders. The teams have split their season series 1-1, and both hold two games in hand over the division leading Guelph Gryphons (11-4).

Windsor will look to continue its success against East division competition when they head to Toronto next weekend to take on the Varsity Blues and Ryerson Rams on Saturday and Sunday.

The Lancers have their final home weekend of the regular season on February 1-2 when they host Nipissing and York.
