Women's Volleyball swept by Blues & Rams

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 The Lancer women's volleyball team was swept by the Toronto Varsity Blues 3-0 (25-18, 25-14, 25-23) on Saturday afternoon, and the Ryerson Rams 3-0 (24-26, 20-25, 21-25) on Sunday in Toronto.
 
With the pair of losses, Windsor is now 8-7 on the season and in third place overall in the OUA West division.
 
On Saturday against Toronto, both teams went back and forth to start the first set, until the Blues went on a 4-0 run and took a 16-11 advantage at the technical time out.  Toronto continued to roll and took the first 25-18.
 
Windsor got out to an early lead, but the Blues went on a 6-1 streak to take a 7-5 advantage early in the frame.  Toronto extended their lead with back-to-back aces heading into the technical time out (16-9). Windsor attempted to rally with a 4-1 run, but the Blues ended the set on an 8-1 streak to take it 25-14.
 
The Lancers again got out to a quick 4-2 lead, but Toronto quickly evened the score at 6-6. The two teams kept even; with Windsor taking a 16-14 lead into the technical timeout. The Lancers extended their lead, only to be answered right back from the Blues. The teams battled back and fourth but the Blues eventually took the set, and game, 25-23.
 
Jennifer Straver led the Lancers with six kills, while Danielle Lenarduzzi had 16 assists and nine digs.

On Sunday, the Lancers played a tough game against the Rams. Both teams traded points and the lead throughout all three sets, but Windsor was narrowly edged in each set.

The Lancers were led by Kaila Seguin with 12 kills and 11 digs. Hannah Robson had a game high 19 digs.

Windsor returns home next weekend for their final set of regular season home games. They will host the Nipissing Lakers on Saturday at 1:00pm, and the York Lions on Sunday at 1:00pm at the St. Denis Centre. Prior to Sunday's game the Lancers will honour their graduating on Senior's Day.
