Box Score 2 The University of Windsor Lancer men's volleyball team dropped a 3-0 (22-25, 16-25, 21-25) decision to the host Toronto Varsity Blues on Friday night at the brand new Goldring Centre for High Performance Sport in Toronto, ON before falling 3-2 (13-25, 25-18, 25-17, 17-25, 11-15) to Ryerson on Saturday.
With the pair loss, the Lancers drop to 4- in OUA action heading into the holiday break.
Against Toronto, Windsor was led by
Alexander Vukovic who recorded nine kills. Garbriel Burlacu added seven kills and a game-high 10 digs in the loss.
Toronto's rookie left side hitter Thomas Meier led Toronto with nine kills, five digs, three aces and two blocks, while Jake Dysselhof added nine kills, eight digs and two blocks, with Zia Karim notching seven kills, four digs and one block on the night.
On Saturday, Windsor struggled in the first set before rebounding in the second and third to take a 2-1 set lead.
The Rams' defense played a strong fourth set to send the game into a fifth and deciding set, where they narrowly edged the Lancers by four 15-11.
Chad Hinchy had a game high 13 kills and 16 points to lead the Lancers, while the Rams were led by Lucas Coleman with 12 kills and 15.5 points.
Windsor will now break from the regular season until Sunday January 11th when they host the OUa defending champion McMaster Marauders at 4:00pm at the St. Denis Centre.
