Rookie forward
Justice Dundas scored four goals and registered his first CIS hat-trick to lead the Windsor Lancers to a dominating 8-1 win over the Waterloo Warriors on Saturday night at South Windsor Arena.
Â
The win improves the Lancer record to 2-0 in the early season, while the loss drops to Warriors back to 1-1 on the year.
Â
Five additional Lancers that included
Kenny Bradford, rookie
Tyson Ness,
Mike Christou,
Ryan Green, and
Steve Anthony had a pair of points in the victory, while the Lancers went 4-for-7 on the power play.
Â
Andrew Smith scored the only Warriors goal in the losing cause, while goaltender Mike Morrison turned aside 42 of Windsor's 50 shots on a busy evening. Lancer goaltender
Michael Doan made 30 saves in net to earn the win.
Â
The game was knotted at 1-1 well beyond the mid-way point of the second period before a late second period flurry, highlighted by Dundas completing his hat trick, made the score 4-1 Windsor after 40 minutes.
Â
The third period was nearly a carbon copy of the second, as the Lancers exploded for four more goals in a span of 6:05 late in the game. In total, the Warriors were assessed 26 minutes in penalties, to the Lancers' 14.
Â
The Blue & Gold will hit the road for the first time in the 2015-16 season as they head to Montreal next weekend for a double header series against the Concordia Stingers. Stay tuned to
