In their lone game of the weekend, the Lancer women's volleyball team dropped a 3-0 (16-25, 20-25, 21-25) decision to the host Guelph Gryphons Saturday night in Guelph.
With the loss, the Lancers are now 1-2 on the season and will once again only play one game next week on the road against the Ottawa Gee Gees.
The first set saw the Gryphons use a nine point run in the middle of the set to take control and win the set 25-16. In the second, Guelph jump out to an eleven point lead later in the set before a Windsor comeback narrowed the gap. Ultimately, the Lancers were unable to complete the comeback and the Gryphons won the set 25-20.
The third set started with the Lancers coming out with new energy taking a 9-3 early on. The Gryphons chipped away and used a 6-2 run late in the set to take the lead and finish the set and the match with a 25-21 win.
