The Lancer men's volleyball team is still looking for their first win of the season after falling 3-0 (22-25, 20-25, 22-25) to the Guelph Gryphons on Saturday night in Guelph, ON.
In the first set, the Gryphons took an early 6-4 lead before the Lancers battled back to tie it at ten. Although the set was highly competitive, Guelph regained the lead and won the set by three, 25-22.
The second set was mirror to the first as the hosts once again took an early lead and once again the Lancers battled back to take a 12-11 lead midway through. A series of kills pulled the Gryphons ahead en route to a 25-20 set win.
Windsor took a 4-0 lead to open the third set but were unable to maintain the momentum as the Gryphons came back to lead 10-9 and eventually take the set 25-22.
Fifth year starter
Josh Edwards led the Blue & Gold with 14 kills and 15 points.
The Lancers will host the Western Mustangs on Friday November 7th in their home opener at 7:00pm at the St. Denis Centre.
