In front of a boisterous crowd at the St. Denis Centre, the Lancer men's volleyball team played a strong game against the Western Mustangs but were unable to come away with the victory, falling 3-0 (15-25, 23-25, 25-27).
With the loss, the Lancers are still looking for their first win of the season as they currently with last in the OUA standings with a 0-4 record.
Western took an early lead heading into the first technical time-out after the Lancers committed a number of forced errors. The Lancers improved their defensive play but couldn't turn out any offensively as the Mustangs dominated the net with some strong blocks to maintain the lead and take the set 25-15.
In the second, Windsor reduced their serving errors and the two teams remained within points of one another throughout the whole set. However, at the end momentum swung in the direction of the Mustangs as they closed out the set 25-23.
The Lancers took control of the third set early on building an 8-5 lead and forcing the Mustangs to take a time out early. A huge block from
Josh Edwards gave the Lancers a five point lead heading into the technical time out but the Mustangs didn't back down and chipped away at the score to earn the win in extra points, 27-25.
The Lancers will be home next weekend when they face the Queen's Gaels on Saturday November 14th and the RMC Paladins on Sunday November 15th. Both games are scheduled for 4:00pm at the St. Denis Centre and can be seen live on
