The Lancer women's basketball team beat the Nipissing Lakers 103-34 on Saturday night in North Bay, completing their weekend road trip with two wins.

With the win, the Lancers are now 15-1 on the season, and currently sit in first place in the OUA West division, 2 points ahead of the Laurier Golden Hawks.

Windsor was led by first year guard
Carly Steer who went 7 for 9 from beyond the 3-point arc to finish with 27 points in just 26 minutes of play. In total, six Lancers reached double digits, including
Caitlyn Longmuir (17 points, 8 assists),
Cheyanne Roger (14 points),
Emily Prevost (13 points, 10 rebounds),
Andrea Kiss (11 points, 8 rebounds), and Kristine Lalonde (10 points, 7 assists).

The Lakers, in just their first season of OUA Basketball, were led by third year guard Claire Abbott, who finished the game with 11 points. The Lakers also had a strong showing by 1st year guard Samantha Therrien, who dropped in 10 points.

The Lancers led by 18 points at the end of the first quarter, at 27-9, and never looked back, extending the lead to 51-18 by half-time.

The Blue & Gold continue their road schedule, as they head to Sault Ste. Marie next weekend for a double-header with the Algoma Thunderbirds. Games are at 6:00 pm on Friday, February 13th, and 2:00 pm on Saturday, February 14th. Both games can be see live on
