Lancers claim silver at Wilson Cup

OTTAWA – The Windsor Lancer men's basketball team claimed a silver medal at the OUA Championships on Saturday night after falling to the Carleton Ravens 103-59 at Montpetit Hall.

The No.5 Lancers have qualified for the CIS championships and will represent the OUA next week on the national stage in Toronto, hosted by Ryerson University.

Windsor was led by Alex Campbell with 15 points on six-for-ten shooting. Evan Matthews chipped in 11 points, while Khalid Abdel-Gabar had ten. Rotimi Osuntola Jr. led the Lancers defensively with six rebounds.

The Ravens were led by Victor Rasso with 21 points.

The Lancers played a tight first quarter before a monstrous 39 points in the second quarter gave the Ravens the cushion they needed heading into the second half.

Seeding for the national championships will be announced Sunday March 8th at 3:00pm. Stay tuned to goLancers.ca for more information on the CIS Championships.
