The Lancer women's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision to the #5 York Lions on Saturday afternoon at Alumni Field.
 
With the loss, Windsor falls to 4-6 on the season while the nationally ranked Lions remain undefeated with a 7-0 record.
 
Both teams were evenly matched playing a man to man defense which prevented either team from earning many scoring opportunities.
 
In the 41st minute of the first half, York's Nour Gheneim brought the ball up the side of the pitch and cuts across into the goalie box where she connected with a wide-open Sydney Hoaurau whose shot finds the back of the Windsor net.
 
The Lancers picked up their intensity in the second half pushing for the equalizer, however York stayed strong to prevent any Windsor advancements.
 
Windsor will now host the McMaster Marauders on Sunday October 4th at 1:00pm at Alumni Field as part of Alumni Weekend festivities.
