The Lancer women's hockey team earned their fourth straight victory with a convincing 5-0 victory over the Ryerson Rams on Friday night at South Windsor Arena.
Â
Ingrid Sandven stopped every one of the 24 shots the Rams sent her way to pick up the shutout between the pipes. The netminder from Bergen, Norway now has two shutouts in her last three starts and a 1.00 GAA in her last four.
Â
She also picked up an assist on
Krystin Lawrence's first period marker that proved to be the game winner 2:41 into the contest. Ryerson's Alex Armstrong (Mississauga, Ont.) made 34 saves in the losing effort.
Â
The Lancers top line of Lawrence,
Erinn Noseworthy and
Shawna Lesperance displayed why they're one of the most dangerous in the league. The trio combined for four of Windsor's five goals and seven points.
Â
Noseworthy's goal with 34 seconds remaining in the third rounded out the scoring and bumped her into the OUA scoring lead with 17 points. Meanwhile, as a result of their three point nights, Lawrence now sits tied for second with 16 points and Lesperance tied for fourth with 15.
Â
The Lancers will now travel to St. Catharine's on Sunday to face the Brock Badgers on Sunday afternoon at 2:15pm.
