Box Score On Friday night at South Windsor Arena, the Lancer women's hockey team let a two goal lead slip away and fell 4-3 to the Laurier Golden Hawks in overtime.

The Lancers got on the board first on a goal mouth scramble scored by
Shawna Lesperance on the power play at 8:18.
Jillian Rops and
Natalie Barrette were credited with the assists.

Not even four minutes later Krystin Lawerence came flying down the wing and fired a shot into the top corner of the net to double the Lancer lead.

Laurier then cut the lead in half in the second period on a goal from Julia Talmanmidway through the frame. The lead didn't last long, however, as Lawrence scored her second of the game at 11:15 and restored Windsor's two goal lead.

In the third period, the Golden Hawks' special teams took advantage of a pair of Lancer penalties, scoring just 22 seconds apart to tie the game and send it into overtime.

The Hawks continued to pressure the Lancers, and two and a half minutes into the extra frame capitalized on a scoring opportunity to earn the victory.

Morgan Farrow made 33 saves for Windsor in net, while Lauren Webber made 34 saves to earn the win in net for Laurier.

The Lancers are back in action Saturday night as they welcome the Waterloo Warriors to town. Puck drop is 7:30 at South Windsor Arena.
