The Lancer men's basketball lost a tough game 94-85 to the Guelph Gryphons in the 2016-17 home opener on Wednesday night at the St. Denis Centre.

The loss moves the Lancers to 1-2 on the season, while the Gryphons improve to 2-1 and sit tied for first in the OUA Central division.

Mike Rocca once again led the Blue & Gold with 22 points, while first year Lancer
Micqueel Martin finished the game with 17 points.
Randy Oriakhi came off the bench to also hit double digits with 10 points and a team high 6 rebounds.

The Gryphons had half a dozen players hit double digits, being led by Ahmed Haroon with 17 points and Jonathan Wallace with 16. Daniel Dooley and Jordan Sobot each finished the game with 15 points, while Taylor Boers had 13.

Kingslee D'Silva had the games only double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds.

Windsor will now travel to Thunder Bay for a single game against the Lakehead Thunderwolves on Saturday November 19th at 8:00pm. The game can been seen live on oua.tv. Windsor returns home next Wednessday, November 23rd, when they host the Waterloo Warriors at 8:00pm.
