The No. 10 Lancer women's basketball team defeated the host Lions 80-65 on Friday night at the Tait McKenzie Centre.
Â
The win ties the Lancers for first place in the OUA west division with the Western Mustangs at a 12-4 record, while the Lions fall to 2-13 on the year.
Â
A dominate first half lifted the Blue & Gold over the Lions, who picked up their game in the final quarter to give the Lancers a bit of trouble in the final ten minutes of play.
Â
However, the Lancers steady play throughout the game gave them the road victory.
Â
Emily Prevost and
Kaylee Anagnostopoulos each totaled 16 points for Windsor. Prevost shot six for nine from the field, while Anagnostopoulos was seven for 11.
Â
The Lancers will now cross town and take on the Queen's Gaels at Centre Court as part of the NBA's all-star game activities on Saturday afternoon at 4:30pm. The game can be seen live at
