Men's HockeyThe Lancer men's hockey team closed out their 2015-16 season with a win on the road against York. After an exciting game, the Lancers came away with the 4-3 overtime victory to finish their season above .500, with a 14-13-1 record. The Lancers now head into playoffs and will face the Guelph Gryphons in the first round best of three series. Game one will kick off in Guelph on Thursday night, with game two moving to South Windsor Arena. Game three, if necessary, will be back at Gryphon Centre Arena.

During the regular season, the Lancers split a pair of games with the Gryphons, coming away with a 5-1 victory before falling 6-3. Key players for the Gryphons are Nick Trecapelli and Rob De Fulviis, who each recorded 23 points in the regular season.
Dylan Denomme and
Justice Dundas were stellar for the Lancers this season, notching 29 points apiece. Other key players for the Blue & Gold heading into the playoffs will be forward
Eric Noel who earned 28 points off 16 goals and 12 assists, as well as
Blake Richard and
Michael Doan in net who have both earned .500 win percentages this season.

Women's VolleyballThe Women's volleyball team is looking to close out their season with a pair of wins against the Ryerson Rams and the No. 2 Toronto Varsity Blues. Coming off a weekend split against the Lakehead Thunderwolves, the women are sitting third in the OUA West with an 11-6 record. On Friday, the Lancers will travel to Toronto to face the 12-5 Ryerson Rams. The Rams are led by Veronica Livingston, who leads the OUA in hits with 206 for a league leading kills per set average of 3.55. However, Livingston also ranks first in errors, totaling 98 this season.

On Saturday, the Lancers will look to upset the nationally ranked Toronto Varsity Blues to finish up their stellar season. The Blues, who remain undefeated at 17-0, are led defensively by Denise Wooding with 4.12 digs per set and offensively by Madelyn Mandryk who leads the league in assists per set with 9.81. Other notable players for Toronto are Tessa Davis with a .353 hitting percentage and Theanna Vernon with 1.16 blocks per set.

Windsor's Shannon Dean has continued to climb the OUA rankings, now placed in the top 5 in eight categories. Dean has totaled 199 kills this season off 3.21 kills per set and a .390 hitting percentage. She leads the league in points with 263.5 and is second for points per set with 4.3. She has also been dominant defensively totaling 24 solo blocks.

Men's VolleyballThe Lancers men's volleyball team is looking for a pair of upsets this weekend to finish their season off strong. Last weekend, the Lancers hit the road to face RMC and Queens and came away 1-1, defeating the Paladins 3-0 on Saturday night before dropping a 1-3 contest to the Gaels on Sunday. The Lancers are heading into their last weekend of regular season play with a 7-11 overall record.

This Friday, the Lancers will face the Ryerson Rams on Friday and the Toronto Varsity Blues on Saturday. Earlier in the season the Lancers swept the Rams and Blues, defeating both teams 3-2 and 3-1 respectively. The Rams, who boast a 12-6 record, are led by Lucas Coleman with 251 kills and Robert Wojcik with 206. Will Otten has totaled 178 digs for Ryerson throughout the season. Key players for the 11-7 Varsity Blues are William Colucci with 216 kills and Stefan Ristic with 161 kills.

The Lancers are looking for strong offensive performances from Josh Edwards and Fabian Buck to earn the weekend sweep. Edwards has been highly effective for the Lancers this season, earning an OUA leading hitting percentage of .399. Buck, who has played just four games for the Lancers, has already recorded 39 kills and 28 digs for the Blue & Gold.

Track and FieldThe Lancer track and field teams continue to impress this season, as the men currently hold the No. 1 ranking in the CIS, while the women are also in the top ten at No. 7. This past weekend was no exception as the men came away with the team title at the Lancer Team Challenge, with the women placing second overall. On the women's side at the meet, Allie Parks won gold in the 3000m setting a new meet record, Stephanie Smith continued to dominate, winning the 1000m, and Emily Omahen placed first overall in the women's long jump. On the men's side, the Lancers earned five gold medals; Alex Ullman won the 600m, Milos Savic brought it home with 4900 points in his first ever heptathlon, Branden Wilhelm won the men's high jump, and Eli Pawliw and Andrew Nebel won their respective events.

This weekend, the Lancers head to Michigan to compete in the Hillsdale Tune Up before returning back to Windsor to host the OUA Championships February 26-27.

Women's BasketballThe women's basketball team earned a split this past weekend with a pair of games against the York Lions and the Queens Gaels. The Lancers easily defeated the York Lions 80-65 before dropping a heartbreaking 60-41 loss against the Queens Gaels on Saturday at the NBA OUA Showcase. The Lancers now head into this weekend with a 12-5 record.

On Saturday, the Lancers will travel up the 401 to face the rival Western Mustangs at 1pm. Earlier this season the Lancers fell to the Mustangs 60-64 in Windsor. Western, who is currently first overall in the OUA west division with a 13-4 record is led by Mackenzie Puklicz with 18.7 points per game and Julia Curran with 7.4 rebounds per game. The Lancers will look for strong performances from Cheyanne Roger and Emily Prevost to lead their team past the 'Stangs. Roger and Prevost are both averaging 14.4 points per game, with Prevost leading the team in rebounds with 9.1 per game.

Men's BasketballThe men's basketball team earned a pair of wins last weekend to extend their win streak to six games. On Friday, the Lancers took down the York Lions 86-85 in overtime before defeating the Queens Gaels 93-87 on Saturday. With the victories, the Lancers climb to an 11-6 record, good for first in the OUA west. This weekend, the Lancers will travel to London for a rematch against the Western Mustangs. At the beginning of the season, the Blue and Gold suffered a 63-83 loss to the 'Stangs. Western is led by Greg Morrow with 24.2 ppg and 7.2 rpg. Other notable Mustangs are Nikola Farkic with a 36.4 3pt% and Alex Coote who is shooting 33.3% from behind the arc.

Key Lancer this weekend will be Alex Campbell who has earned a 21.9 points per game and 6.5 rebounds per game, as well as Marko Kovac who is shooting 41.9% from the three.

Women's HockeyThe women's hockey team is looking to close out their 2015-16 season on a winning note this coming weekend against the York Lions in Toronto. The Lancers, who dropped a pair of games last weekend against Waterloo and Western, are currently sitting at an 8-14-1 record. Earlier this season the Lancers defeated the York Lions 3-2 in double overtime. Natalie Barrette scored the game winner, and continues to be a key player for the Lancers, totaling 16 points in the regular season. Other notable Lancers are Krystin Lawrence, Shawna Lesperance and Erinn Noserworthy, who continue to dominate the OUA player rankings. The 8-4 Lions will look for a strong performance from Chelsea Tucker, who has earned 12 points this season off 1 assist and 11 goals.
