As announced by Ontario University Athletics (OUA) at their annual Honours Awards Banquet on Wednesday (May 13) evening, the University Windsor Lancers athletic department has received two OUA CHAMP (Celebrating and Honouring Achievements in Marketing and Promotion) Awards for the 2025-26 season.

Awarded to a high-quality photograph that captures a must-see moment from the season, student photographer Justin Han captured a moment between Lancer men's volleyball setter Markus Law-Heese and mascot Winston in the pre-game ceremonies before the bronze medal match of the 2026 U SPORTS Men's Volleyball Championship to win photo of the year.

Han's photo was selected as the best out of 13 submissions across the province. In the moments before the final game of a historic season, Han expertly framed Law-Heese and Winston from a low perspective, close to the court floor, and highlights the figures with the Toldo Lancer Centre lights from above, allowing the magnitude of the moment can be felt through the photograph.

Awarded to a fan group that demonstrates consistent support, the Party Army has won best fan group. Among the loudest and most passionate fan bases in the OUA, the Party Army's support for the men's volleyball program reached new heights with the 2026 U SPORTS Men's Volleyball Championship.

Identifiable by their iconic gold t-shirts, the Party Army supported men's volleyball to a reverse sweep in the national quarterfinals and reached noise levels of over 100 decibels in the process. They turned the Toldo Lancer Centre into a party venue with their cheering, chants, claps, and noisemakers.

Their signature cheer is the 'Windsor Clap,' where everyone in the gym, including the Lancers on the bench, engage in a deafening, consistent clap before every Lancer serve. They also use horns and drums in their best efforts to annoy visiting teams, in hopes of throwing them off their game.
