Box Score Despite three fourth quarter touchdowns, the Lancer football team fell 56-32 to the York Lions on Saturday afternoon in Toronto. 

With the loss, the Lancers drop to 1-2 on the season heading into their bye week while the Lions improve to 2-1. 

The Lancers got on the board first with a rouge but on the ensuing drive York kicker Nick Naylor (Abbotsford, B.C.) was good on a 25-yard field goal for a 3-1 lead, and the Lions added to it on their next turn with the ball with the game's first touchdown.

Windsor responded on its first drive of the second quarter, scoring a touchdown of their own on a three-yard rush by running back Tarrence Crawford, but the Lions got their nine-point lead back after second-year tight end Nikola Kalinic (Etobicoke, Ont.) scored on a beautiful 50-yard catch and run play to make the score 17-8.

The Lancers added a field goal and Naylor scored a rouge for an 18-11 York lead at halftime.
 
The Lions dominated the third quarter, scoring 21 unanswered points to take a commanding 39-11 lead into the final frame. In the fourth, Windsor took control of the game and scored three touchdowns. Crawford, Kaeden Walls, and Cody Knights all crossed the plain into the endzone in Windsor's efforts to close the gap built by the hosts, but the Lions held on for the win. 

Crawford led the Lancers with 166 yards rushing and two touchdowns, while Walls led the Lancer receivers with 3 receptions for 98 yards and a touchdown. Quarteback Casey Wright went 6-for-18, 177 yards and two touchdowns, while Jalen Brady went 12-for-20 and 166 yards. 

Windsor returns to action on Saturday September 24th when they host the Ottawa Gee Gees at 1:00pm at Alumni Field.
