A pair of shut-out victories lifted the Lancer men's soccer team over the Algoma Thunderbirds over the weekend in Sault Ste. Marie, ON.

The wins move the Lancers to 2-2-1 on the year and into fifth place in the OUA west division standings.

In rainy conditions on Saturday afternoon, Windsor came away with a 4-0 victory and followed that up with a 2-0 win on Sunday.

Marco Bernabo gave the Lancers a one goal lead in the first half of Saturday's game, before the Blue & Gold exploded in the second with three unanswered goals. Bernabo set up
Keegan Pittuck in the 70th minute, before
Iyowuna Jumbo added two goals in the final twenty minutes.

Kyle Vizirakis earned the shut out in net.

The game was a tighter contest on Sunday, with neither team being able to find the scoreboard in the first half.

Kyle Ruggaber opened the scoring in the 62nd minute before rookie
Miguel Fontecha continued his solid season with the go ahead goal in the 84th minute.

The Lancers will now travel to Waterloo on the weekend to face the Laurier Golden Hawks and Waterloo Warriors.
