The Lancer men's volleyball team is still looking for their first win of the season following a 3-0 (16-25, 20-25, 23-25) loss to the visiting Western Mustangs on Sunday afternoon at the St. Denis Centre.
Â
Windsor holds an 0-6 record and sit in sixth place in the OUA west division, while the Mustangs improve to 4-3 and are tied for third in the same division.

Second-year left side
John Moate led the Lancers with 12 points in the loss, including 10 kills and two blocks.
Â
After taking a 5-2 lead to start the game, the Lancers began to struggle against the Mustangs, who had a .333 hitting percentage compared to a -.074 mark from the Lancers. Western took the lead at 7-6 and held on to it for the rest of the frame, leading 16-14 at the technical timeout before going on a 9-2 run to end the set with a 25-16 win.
Â
The second set proved to be a more closely contested affair, with the two teams trading points to set the scoreboard at 10-10 before Western began to pull away, going on a 6-2 run to take a 16-12 lead at the technical timeout.
Â
Following the timeout the Mustangs continued to extend their lead, as two kills from the visitors, followed by back-to-back attack errors from the Lancers forced Windsor into a timeout at 20-14. Although the Lancers earned three points off of Western errors, the Mustangs closed out the set with a 25-20 win.
Â
The third set proved to be the closest of the day with neither team able to build up a sizeable advantage. After leading 16-15 at the technical, Western built up the largest lead of the set at 18-15, before the Lancers pulled even on a kill from Oscar Scholin and a pair of attack errors by the Mustangs.
Â
Tied again at 19-19, that was as close as things would get with the Mustangs being the first to 25 as a result to two kills and three points from Lancers' errors to take the set 25-23 and the match.
Â
Windsor will play the Brock Badgers on Saturday afternoon at 3:00pm in St. Catherine's, followed by a match against the McMaster Marauders on Sunday at 3:00pm in Hamilton.
