The No. 6 Lancer women's basketball team swept the host Algoma Thunderbirds in a weekend series 76-64 on Friday night in Sault Ste. Marie, ON.
Windsor defeated the Thunderbirds 76-64 on Friday night before coming away with a 83-70 win on Saturday. The sweep moves the Lancers to 12-2 on the season, as the they continue to hold on to the top spot in the OUA west division, while Algoma falls to 1-12.Â
On Friday,
Emily Prevost led all scorers with 21 points and 11 rebounds for the game's only double-double, while
Kayah Clarke chipped in 16 points.

Saturday proved to be a bit more difficult for the Blue & Gold as the hosts held a 36-26 lead at the half. However, the Lancers rebounded in a big way, outscoring Algoma 39-11 in the third quarter, en route to the double-digit victory.Â
Prevost again led all scorers with 24 points, and for the second straight night finished the game with the match's only double-double chipping in 13 rebounds.Â
Cheyanne Roger came off the bench to contribute 17 points, while Clarke put up 15 points, and
Caitlyn Longmuir and
Carly Steer each contributed 11.Â
The Lancers are back in action on Friday night when they host the No. 4 Carleton Ravens at 6:00pm at the St. Denis Centre.Â
