Men's Volleyball wins Humber Cup

The Lancer men's volleyball team captured the 2017 Humber Cup to open their exhibition season, this past weekend in Hamilton, ON.
 
Windsor went 4-0 in pool play with victories over the York Lions (3-0; 25-20, 25-22, 25-14), Mohawk College (3-0; 25-22, 25-18, 25-17), St-Jean-sur-Richelieu (3-1; 15-25, 25-12, 25-14, 25-18), and Durham College (3-0; 25-18, 25-19, 25-23).
 
In the playoffs Sunday, Windsor swept Georgian College 3-0 (25-19, 25-16, 25-20) to advance to the finals against the OUA's York Lions. In the final, the Lancers earned to hard fought victories in the first two sets before the Lions took the third set to bring the game within one.
 
Windsor dug deep, however, in the fourth and kept their unbeaten streak alive with a 25-17 set victory to capture the gold medal and tournament title.
 
Second year Pierce Johnson was named Tournament MVP, while teammate Jon Moate was named to the tournament all-star team.
 
The Lancers will next travel to Fanshawe College for a pair of games against the Western Mustangs and host Fanshawe on Saturday, October 7th.
