Opening their 2017-18 season on the road, the Lancer women's volleyball team kicked off the year with a weekend split.

Windsor dropped their first game of the year against the Waterloo Warriors 3-0 (18-25, 23-25, 23-25) before rebounding to defeat the Guelph Gryphons 3-2 (28-26, 14-25, 25-20, 18-25, 15-13).

Paige Phills led the way for the Blue & Gold in her OUA debut with 11 kills and 9 digs. Second year
Lexi Pollard had a great game for the Lancers in the loss with 6 kills, 4 aces, 2 blocks, and 7 digs.

On Saturday at Guelph, Phills had another outstanding day finishing with 14 kills, 3 aces, 2 blocks, and 12 digs. Senior
Emily McCloskey also hit double digits in the win with 12 kills and four blocks.
