The Windsor Lancers men's basketball team hit the court in Kingston on Friday night desperate to get back in the win column after suffering three straight losses. The Blue and Gold got off to a hot start and led through most of the game. However, despite the hot start and great offense, a late Gaels push would prove too strong for the Lancers who fell 96-94 to Queen's.

GAME STATS
The Lancers Marcus Jones led all scorers with 27 points while Queen's was led by Jaz Bains who scored 24.
Â
Queen's Tanner Graham recorded the game's only double-double pairing his 13 points with 16 rebounds. Lucas wood led the Lancers with seven rebounds.
Â
The Lancers had a night to forget from the free throw line, only hitting on half of their foul shots. The Gaels on the other hand hit 88 per cent of their charity stripe looks.
Â
GAME FLOW
The Lancers offense got off to a great start, building a lead through the early going of the game. Windsor, led by Anthony Zrvnar and his two threes, the Lancers le after one 33-17.
Â
In the second quarter Queen's picked up their offensive execution. After shooting 40 per cent from the field in the first quarter the Gaels shot 50 per cent in the second frame. Unfortunately for the Gaels, the Lancers shot 52 per cent from the field and after a high scoring first half the Lancers went into halftime happy with a 57-44 lead.
Â
After the break the Queen's offense got into quite the groove. The Gaels begun carving into the Lancers lead despite the fact that Windsor was still hitting on half their looks from the field. The Gaels now high powered offense had taken the game over hitting on almost 60 per cent of their looks from the field in the third quarter. Heading into the final quarter the Lancers were faced with a dwindling 10-point lead and a hot offense they needed to cool.
Â
In the fourth quarter the Gaels offense came back down to earth, however, the Lancers offense was nowhere to be seen. The Lancers final quarter shooting percentage of just 31 per cent was just not enough to sustain the early lead they built and Windsor lost 96-94.
