The Windsor Lancer men's hockey team were looking to remain in the win column following a come from behind victory last week on the road, but unfortunately could not find a rhythm and fell 4-2 to the Western Mustangs Friday night at South Windsor Arena.

The loss moves the Lancers to 2-4-1 on the season, while the Mustangs improve to 2-4-0.

Robert Polesello led the way for the visiting Mustangs with a goal and an assist, and rookie goaltender Zach Springer earned his first OUA victory stopping 33 shots that were sent his way. Â

GAME FLOW
The Lancers came out in good shape, scoring the first goal of the game when Friesen beat Springer at the 8:01 mark of the first period. The lead, however, would not last long as Western would knot the score at the 11:29 mark of the opening period. Kyle Petit was able to beat Lancer net minder

The Mustangs found the back of the net again in a short amount of time when Poloesello beat Richard to put the Mustangs up 2-1. The Lancers were able to battle back however, scoring at the 14:09 mark in the second period when
Jonathan Tecce beat Springer off assists from
Kyle Hope and
Chris Scott.

The tie game was short-lived as Ray Heuther scored for the Mustangs, getting a pass from Rylan Bechtel. The Mustangs would find twine one more time in the closing minutes of the third when Trevor Warnaar scored on an empty net to make the final score 4-2 in favour of the visiting Mustangs.
