Game Recap: Men's Volleyball |

Lancers fall to Waterloo & Guelph

The Lancer men's volleyball team lost a pair of road games over the weekend. The Lancers fell 3-1 (15-25, 19-25, 27-25, 21-25) to the Waterloo Warriors on Friday night before dropping a 3-0 (25-27, 21-25, 15-25) decision to the Guelph Gryphons on Saturday.

With just four games in the regular season, the Lancers are 2-11 on the year and are tied for fifth in the OUA west division.

FRIDAY
The Warriors took control of the match early and were able get past the visitors 25-15, 25-19 to grab a 2-0 lead.  Windsor bounced back with a hard fought third set, winning it 27-25 before Waterloo stepped on the gas once again to close it out, claiming the fourth set 25-21.

Windsor was led by Brad Gyemi with 15 kills in a strong losing effort while setter Nolan Langley had 33 assists.

SATURDAY
The first set was back and forth until the Lancers took control. They were leading 24-21 and looking to close out the set before the Gryphons came back to win six of the next seven points, and go up 1-0 in sets.

The Blue & Gold gave Guelph all they had until they finally started running out of gas in the third set.

John Moate led the way for the Lancers with 13 kills and 16 points.

UP NEXT
Windsor will return home next weekend for their final home games of the season. They will take on the Toronto Varsity Blues at 8:00pm on Friday night and the Trent Excalibur on Saturday, also at 8:00pm.
