Women's Soccer add four points; remain undefeated

The Lancer women's soccer team remain undefeated after a pair of road games this weekend. Windsor came away with a 3-1 win over the Brock Badgers on Saturday afternoon and followed that up with a 1-1 draw against the McMaster Marauders in Hamilton on Sunday.

The Lancers are now 1-0-3 on the season as they head into a weekend series against the Algoma Thunderbirds at Alumni Field.

Saturday @ Brock
After drawing two games on their opening weekend, the women's team captured their first victory of the season as they earned three points against the Badgers.

After a scoreless first half, freshmen forward Sophia Ferrazzo got the women on the scoreboard with an unassisted goal in the 50th minute.

After conceding a goal 15 minutes later, Jazmin Martin scored the go ahead goal in the 80th minute, and Becca Fuerth scored a late goal in the final minute of regulation to make it 3-1 and secure the three points.

Sunday @ McMaster
Coming off their first victory of the season, the women found themselves in a physical matchup against the Marauders on Sunday afternoon.

Freshmen Jade Samping scored her first goal of the young season at the nine minute mark, connecting on a shot that found the top left corner of the McMaster net, and shifting momentum in the Lancers favor.

The Marauders tied the game in the 73rd minute.

With this tie, this brings the women's record to 1-0-3 with 6 points.

Up Next
