Led by a 30-point performance by Emily Prevost the Lancer women's basketball team defeated the host Laurier Golden Hawks 71-60 Saturday night in Waterloo.
 
With the win, the Lancers retain their spot atop the OUA West standings with a 9-3 record while Laurier now sits at 6-6 and remains in fifth-place in the OUA West.
 
The Lancers shot the ball better in every category, making 25.9 percent of their three-point attempts, 34.2 percent of their shot attempts overall, and capped it off by shooting an impressive 92.3 percent from the free-throw line. Their efficiency was indicative of their style, focusing on floor spacing in an attempt to consistently put Prevost in positions in the low-block where she could be most-effective. 
 
Prevost finished the game with 30 points and 12 rebounds, while Olivia Osamusali recorded her second double-double of the season with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
