Lancers win Humber Cup for second straight year

For the second straight year, the Lancer men's volleyball team captured the Humber Cup to open their exhibition season, this past weekend in Toronto, ON.
 
Windsor went 3-1 in pool play with victories over the Toronto Varsity Blues (3-0; 25-18, 29-27, 25-23), Limoilou (3-1; 25-19, 25-14, 23-25, 25-18), and Durham College (3-0; 25-16, 25-17, 25-15). Their only loss of the tournament came against the host Humber Hawks in their final game of the round robin (301; 23-25, 25-23, 22-25, 21-25).
 
In the playoffs Sunday, Windsor swept the Western Mustangs 3-0 (25-22, 25-21, 25-19) to advance to the finals against the Humber Hawks. In the final, the Lancers got their revenge from their pool play loss, sweeping the hosts 3-0 (25-18, 25-17, 25-23) to earn their second straight tournament title.
 
Third year setter Nolan Langley was named Tournament MVP, while teammate Pierce Johnson was named to the tournament all-star team.
 
The Lancers will next travel to St. Catharine's, ON to play in the Brock Badgers tournament.
