The Lancer women's soccer team had a bit of a rough go at home on the weekend, coming away with a point following a pair of double headers at Alumni Field.
 
The Blue & Gold lost a tough 3-2 battle to the Laurier Golden Hawks on Friday night before reaching a 0-0 draw against Waterloo on Sunday afternoon.
 
FRIDAY vs LAURIER
The visitors went up 3-0 early in the first half before Kaitlyn Austin replied for the Lancers just before the half, making it 3-1 heading into the break.
 
The two-goal margin stood for much of the second-half, before Sophia Ferrazzo was able to beat Hawks goalkeeper Ashley Almeida in the 84th, setting up a stressful finish for fans.
 
Unfortunately, the Lancers were not able to turn their momentum into a tying goal, falling 3-2 to the Hawks.
 
SUNDAY vs WATERLOO
The Lancers and Warriors battled for possession throughout the first half, with neither team succeeding to take control of the game. The game heading into halftime with each team only having a few scoring chances.
 
Both teams struggled to gain control of the game in the second half. Substitutions and in game adjustments did not make a crucial difference as the teams came away with a scoreless draw.
 
Kristina Brooks earned the clean sheet in net for Windsor.
 
UP NEXT
The Blue & Gold head up the road for a pair of games against the Brock Badgers Saturday, and the McMaster Marauders Sunday. Earlier this year, the Lancers tied the Badgers 1-1 in their season opener, and then came away with another tie the Marauders, 2-2. Both games are scheduled for 1:00pm starts.
