Box Score The Windsor Lancers dropped their senior day matchup to the Laurier Golden Hawks by a decisive 52-10 margin on Alumni Weekend.
 
Unfortunately, the Lancers just didn't have the answers on defense as they dropped to 1-6 on the season.
 
GAME STATS
Dan Metcalfe was the leading tackler on the day with 11, while Laurier was led by Shomari Hutchison with 6.5.
 
Sam Girard led the Lancers in rushing with 59 yards on four carries. Levondre Gordon led the Golden Hawks on the ground with 14 carries for 82 yards.  
 
Callin Bethune had a great day punting the ball with five punts for 199 yards to average an impressive 39.8 yards per punt. Laurier's Nathan Mesher punted four times for 139 yards and an average of 34.8.
 
GAME FLOW
After a quick two and out by the Lancers offense, Connor Carusello marched his Golden Hawks right down field and into the end zone on a 42-yard pass to Kavantye Bailey to put the Golden Hawks up 7-0. While the Lancer offense continued to struggle, Laurier's Nathan Mesher nailed a 43-yard field goal and Osayi Iginuan put the Golden Hawks in the end zone again. The offensive onslaught kept up until the Lancers finally scored themselves on an eight-yard strike from Sam Girard to Kaeden Walls, bringing the score to 28-7 in favour of the Golden Hawks.
 
The Golden Hawks came out in the third quarter swinging, adding 10 points to their lead while keeping the Lancer offense bogged down and searching for answers. Zack Benson forced the first mistake of the game for Laurier when he picked off a screen pass and set the Lancers up with great field position. Griffin Fenton added a field goal early in the fourth as the Lancers fell to the Golden Hawks 52-10.
