The No. 10 ranked Windsor Lancers survived a nail bitter Friday evening in Sudbury, edging the Laurentian Voyageurs 64-61 to improve to 3-0 on the season.
 
GAME STATS
Laurentian's Baily Tabin led the game in scoring with 19 points on 7 of 17 shooting, while the Lancers were led by Olivia Osamusali who scored 14 points on 5 of 8 shooting.
 
Kaylee Anagnostopoulos was the game's best passer, dishing out five assists. The Voyaguers were led by Kayla Deschatelets who had three assists.
 
The Lancers were a force on the boards, out-rebounding Laurentian 55-37 on the night.
 
GAME FLOW
The Lancers came out strong in the first quarter, blanking the Voyageurs from three-point land. While the Lancers defense went to work, it was Samantha Gucciardi doing the work on offense going 3-3 from the field and being perfect at the stripe for eight points.
 
Though Windsor struggled to contain Laurentian's Baily Tabin with 11 points, the blue and gold led 22-13 at the end of one. In the second quarter however, the Voyageurs shot 75 per cent from beyond the arc, and despite the Lancers shooting just 20 per cent from outside, they held on to the lead at halftime, 36-30.
 
The defensive struggle continued into the third with both teams hovering around just 31 per cent from the field. The saving grace for the Lancers was their ability to get to the free throw line, collecting six of their 14 points in the quarter at the stripe to stay ahead after three, 50-41.
 
The fourth quarter was hard fought as Laurentian made quite the comeback effort, making it a one-point game. A late three from Nyamouch Teny and some made free throws later however, it was the Lancers standing victorious, 65-61 over Laurentian.
