Â
The win improves the Lancers to 1-7-1-1 on the season, while the Golden Hawks fall to 1-5-1-3. This was the second meeting between the two teams this season. In their previous contest, Laurier came out on the other side with a 3-2 win.

Â
GAME FLOW
In a tight and physical game that in the end was a battle of the goaltender, the Golden Hawks came out firing on all cylinders and controlled the game to start. However, it was Gribbon who opened the scoring at 14:25 on the Lancers third shot of the game with a back handed shot over the shoulder of Myers. The Hawks, however, would come back and tie the game just three minutes later to send the game into the intermission tied at one a piece.
Â
Laurier kept the momentum going in the second, taking a one goal lead just 37 seconds into the frame. After that, Windsor locked down their defense and out-shot the hosts 9-6 in the frame but couldn't get past Myers, who was a wall in net for the Hawks.
Â
The goaltender show down continued until early in the third when Myers faltered in net. Lancer captain
Ashley Maitre was credited with her third power play goal of the year to tie the game up and send the contest into overtime.
Â
With the additional seven minutes solving nothing, the game went into a shootout. Gribbon scored her second of the game, and Spooner turned aside all three shots faced to give the Lancers their second straight win.
