Game Flow
Â
The first set started off shaky for the Lancers who trailed 7-0 at the beginning of the set following some tough serves from Nipissing's Kessler. The blue and gold managed to bounce back though as the set wore on continuing to battle through the adversity and managed to complete the strong comeback against the Lakers taking the first set 25-22.
Â
The second set started very similarly to the first with Kessler again wreaking havoc on the Lancers from the service line. The Lancers struggled on serve receive again but this time the Lakers capitalized on the opportunity keeping their foot on the gas not allowing the Lancers to preform another monumental comeback down the stretch taking the second set 25-21 knotting things up at one set a piece (1-1).Â
Â
The third set started out a little differently than the previous two as both teams traded points early making it more a see-saw tilt rather than marginal gap to start things off. The Lancers would then breakaway towards the midway point of the set and kept on pushing to take the third set by a score of 25-20.Â
Â
The fourth set is where things became too much for the Lakers to handle as it seemed like they had run out of gas while the Lancers were charged up. The blue and gold managed to take control of their errors and blow by the Lakers 25-12 taking the match 3-1 and earning their second win of the season. This match was also the Lancer ladies first win at home this season at the Dennis Fairall Fieldhouse.Â
