Game Recap: Women's Hockey |

Women's Hockey falls to Laurentian on the road

The Windsor Lancers women's hockey team fell to the Laurentian Voyageurs 3-0 on Saturday afternoon on the road.

GAME STATS
Jaydlin Spooner made 31 saves on 33 shots, while Laurentian's Shanna Dolighan stopped all 35 shots that she faced.

The Lancers played a clean game, without a single penalty.

The Blue and Gold out shot Laurentian 15-4 in the final period.

GAME FLOW
The Lancers struggled to defend the Voyageurs in the first period, getting out shot 16-8 in the opening frame. Spooner let in an early goal but was solid the rest of the way in the first, ensuring it was just a one goal deficit after one.

Spooner again faced a barrage of shots from the Voyageurs in the second and did an admirable job turning them aside. Unfortunately, Laurentian's Morgan Mcann doubled the Voyageurs' lead in the middle frame. Though the Lancers got two powerplays opportunities late in the second and early in the third period, they couldn't sneak one past Dolighan, who earned herself a shut out.

UP NEXT
The Lancers return to home ice to take on the Laurier Golden Hawks on Friday, November 8th at 7:30 pm at the Capri Pizzeria Recreation Complex.
