The Lancers women's hockey team fell just short of cutting their losing streak, and upsetting the top placed team in the OUA, in their matchup against the Guelph Gryphons.
The blue and gold held the Gryphons to a tie game, falling behind with only two minutes left in the game. Guelph won the contest 2-1.

GAME FLOW
The Lancers surprised their opposition with an offensive start, containing the Gryphons to their defensive zone. Unprepared for Windsor's quick start, the Gryphons found themselves sucked into taking two early penalties in the opening minutes of the game, giving Lancers momentum.
Fended off by Beaulieu, the blue and gold were unable to capitalize, and the Gryphons were able to find a slight edge in the second period. Lantz was the first to find the back of the net, putting Guelph on the board halfway through the period.
Attempting to regain control, the Lancers found themselves in the penalty box moments after the Gryphons goal, giving them the man advantage. A successful penalty kill saw the Lancers escape the period only trailing by one goal.
The Lancers found themselves back in the game in the third period, when Douglas caught the Gryphons off guard, sending the puck flying past Guelph's goaltender.
The blue and gold seemed to take over all the momentum the game. However, a two on one scoring opportunity saw the Lancers put the puck wide of the net, and the Gryphons responded moments later when Shell put the game away, scoring with only two minutes remaining.
Windsor pulled their goalie in the closing seconds but were unable to tie the game back up.
At the final Buzzer, the Gryphons took the game 2-1.
