Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Women's Soccer falls to Mac; draws against Brock

On their opening weekend of 2019, the Lancer women's soccer team fell 5-1 to McMaster on Saturday before earning a 1-1 draw to Brock on Sunday.

SATURDAY @ McMASTER
The defending OUA bronze medalists put the Lancers under immediate pressure, creating a trio of quality scoring chances inside the opening five minutes, and built a 2-0 lead by the fifteen minute mark of the first.

Sophia Ferrazzo cut the hosts lead in half with an unassisted marker in the 27th minute, but that didn't last long as the Marauders retaliated just two minutes later. MAC would score one more before the half to lead by three heading into the break.

Windsor was more focused in the second, and held the Marauders to just one goal in the final 45 minutes.

Lauren Gellner made nine saves in net for the Lancers.

SUNDAY @ BROCK
The Badgers hoped on the board first with a goal in the 34th minute. The Lancers continued to apply pressure on the Badgers goaltender and Jade Samping scored her first of the season with an unassisted goal in the 44th minute of the match.

Brock outshot Windsor 19-8, seven of which came in the first half for the Lancers.
