An exciting shootout ended in a disappointing result as the Lancers lose to the Waterloo Warriors 45-42 after an incredible offensive showing.
Sam Girard threw for over three hundred yards and five touchdowns, but was stuck watching on the sidelines as Tre Ford orchestrated the game winning drive.
The Lancers now sit 1-2 on the season and go on the road the next two weeks.

GAME FLOW
The Lancers started the game in fantastic fashion, moving the ball down the field efficiently. Gaynor got things going with a massive run to kick start the drive before Girard found
Carson Ouellette in the end zone for an early lead. The Warriors hit back towards the end of the quarter after Lam found the end zone from three yards out. The Lancers' answer was quick as to open the second quarter Girard found Matt James for another major and pushed the lead to 14-7.
After a Waterloo field goal, Girard called his own number to extend the lead further to 21-10. Waterloo then got a rouge but couldn't stop the Lancers again as Girard found James again in the end zone to put the blue and gold up 28-11. On the next drive, reigning OUA MVP Ford broke free for a 60-yard touchdown run. Ford cut the lead again when he found Tyler Ternowski in the end zone, taking the momentum into halftime despite the Lancers leading 28-25.
The second half didn't start great for Windsor as the Warriors busted a 60-yard scoring run by Dion Pellerin. The scoring frenzy continued though as both defenses struggled to assert themselves. Shortly after the Waterloo touchdown Girard uncorked a deep 70-yard bomb to Osei-Kusi to put the Lancers back in the lead. After three quarters both teams sat square at 35.
The Warriors took a late lead when Ford found Pellerin for a touchdown, putting the visitors up 42-35 with under 10 minutes in the game. The Warriors defense defended the lead until the Lancers finally got the ball moving inside of two minutes left in the game. With just 1:47 left, Girard found Osei-Kusi again for a 10-yard touchdown to tie the game up. Unfortunately, the Lancers were not able to contain reigning OUA MVP as he scrambled his way into field goal range. With time expiring Jonah Zlatinszky nailed the game winner as the Lancers fell to the Warriors, 45-42.
