GAME FLOW
The game started as a defensive struggle on both sides of the court. Halfway through the first quarter, both teams had combined for just 12 points, with McMaster holding a slight edge on the scoreboard. As the game progressed the Lancers slowly built a lead. Shooting just 30 percent from the field in the first half, the Lancers had to rely on solid defence to maintain their lead. At halftime, the defense was holding up with McMaster only making 11 per cent of their looks from the field, helping the Lancers to lead 39-34.
The third quarter was an offensive whirlwind. The blue and gold started the second half playing fantastic and unselfish offence. The Lancer shared the ball well on their way to posting a 30-point quarter. At times, the Lancers led by as many as 21, but McMaster came roaring back turning what seemed like a blowout to a game worth watching heading into the fourth. The final quarter of the game went down to the wire. At one point the Lancers led 82-69 with under four to go, only for the Marauders to tie it late. With his Lancers holding a slim lead, freshman guard
Shakael Pryce banged home the biggest shot of his young career, downing the No. 6 McMaster Marauders 90-86.
