GAME FLOW
The blue and gold got out to a slow start offensively but played inspiring defence in the early going of the game. Despite the Lancers shooting just 25 per cent from the field, their defence kept them ahead early, 14-8 after the first quarter. The second quarter was more of the same as the Lancers slowly but surely added to their advantage. Windsor had a little more success going inside, scoring most of their points in the paint, as well the Lancers owned the rebounding advantage, making for extra possessions. At halftime the blue and gold looked to be dealing with the early start well, up 28-18 over Brock.
Â
The slow offence continued into the second half for the Lancers as they scored just eight points in the opening eight minutes of the half. The Badgers however were starting to find some answers for the Lancer defense and began to close the gap. At the end of the third the Badgers went on an impressive run, hitting multiple threes, and turned what was a 10-point game into a 40-39 thriller heading into the fourth quarter. The suddenly hot Badgers kept the pressure up with a deadeye shooting performance down the stretch, while the Lancers started to struggle from the field. Despite the halftime lead, the Lancers couldn't hold the Badgers off in a 63-54 loss.
