St. Denis Centre to open October 5th

The St. Denis Centre and Forge Fitness Centre is scheduled to open on Monday, October 5, 2020, by appointment only, for University of Windsor students and faculty/staff.
 
The facility entry is limited to 50 occupants at a time and will be spread out between the Forge and the fieldhouse, where a temporary gym has been set up.
 
As of now, open recreation times and the wood courts will remain closed.
 
Hours of Operation: For phase 1 of re-entry we will operate from Monday to Friday 9:00am to 5pm. Occupants are asked to arrive 15 minutes prior to their session start time, wear a face mask and be sure to have your student/staff card with you. 
 
One hour sessions will be available at the following times:
 
Session #1           9 am  - 10 am
 
Clean                    10 - 10:30
 
Session #2           10:30 am  - 11:30 am
 
Deep Clean         11:30 – 12:30
 
Session #3           12:30 pm  - 1:30pm
 
Clean                    1:30 – 2:00 pm
 
Session #4           2:00 pm – 3:00 pm
 
Clean                    3:00 – 3:30pm
 
Session #5           3:30 – 4:30pm
 
Deep Clean         4:30 to close
 
BOOK AN APPOINTMENT TIME HERE
 
All occupants will:
  • be screened for symptoms prior to entry or use the Safe Lancer App
  • use hand sanitizer prior to entry.
  • be required to wear face masks.
    • Participants using fitness equipment may choose to remove face mask if enough spacing is available.
  • maintain social distancing recommendations of 2m or 6ft
 
Building flow will be tightly managed to facilitate distancing, and no external reservations are permitted.
 
DRESS CODE
Stricter dress code for participants will also be enforced. All clothing must cover skin that may come in to contact with equipment.
 
LOCKER ROOMS
  • Showers and changing area will be inaccessible.
  • Self-filling water fountains will be available.
 
Participants will be required to clean their own equipment before and after use.
Failure to follow St Denis policies may lead to suspension.
 
EXERCISE GUIDELINES & OTHER INFORMATION
  • No exercising that requires spotting.
  • Some machines/equipment may be blocked from usage to promote increased exercise distancing; i.e. 10 feet or more.
  • Super-setting and giant sets are prohibited.
  • Group Fitness and instructional classes will continue virtually only.
  • Equipment (bands, skipping ropes) will not be available for check-out.
  • Participants are not permitted to bring in personal exercise items.
 
CLEANING
  • There will be a 10-15 minute window between each group of participants allowed in the facility.
    • During this time, staff will clean high-touch areas and wipe down used equipment.
  • Participants will be required to clean their own equipment before and after use.
    • Single-use wipe stations and bins will be placed throughout facility.
  • There will be a one-hour break each week day at noon and end of day to allow for deeper cleaning and staff re-gathering.
