Game Recap: Men's Hockey |

Men's Hockey drops second straight road game

The Windsor Lancers men's hockey team dropped its second road game in as many nights, losing 9-3 to the Toronto Varsity Blues in Toronto Saturday night.

The loss drops them to 14-12 on the season with two games left before the playoffs.

In the first period the Lancers let the Blues get the better of them early as Toronto scored just 1:20 into the game and again late in the period to take a 2-0 lead late in the first period. The Lancers answered the goal late in the frame when Brennan Feasey made the most of a powerplay chance, beating UofT's Alex Bishop for his tenth goal of the season to make it a one goal game heading into the break.

The second period was an offensive showcase. Toronto's Steven Elliot opened the scoring with his second of the game just 2:11 into the period. About five minutes later though, Windsor's Sean Olson tightened the game back up with his fifth goal of the season making it 3-2. The Blues then ripped off three straight goals, going up 6-2 on the Lancers. Luckily late in the period, Ben Assad answered the run and beat Bishop to make it a more palatable 6-3 deficit heading into the final period.

The Lancers had a forgettable third period, giving up three straight goals to open the frame on route to a 9-3 loss.
