The Windsor Lancers began the first of a two-game road trip to kick off February on Saturday night. The blue and gold travelled to Peterborough to take on the Trent Excalibur where they were able to pick up another crucial victory for the standings here in the second half of the OUA regular season. The Lancers defeated the Excalibur 3-0 (25-14, 25-18, 25-23) in front of a well-spirited Trent crowd which also featured some dedicated Lancer fans who made the trek.

With the win the Lancers now improve to 7-5 on the campaign while the Excalibur are still seeking their first victory of the season.Â

GAME FLOW
In the first set, the Lancers set the tone early establishing their dominance on the host Excalibur. Although Trent battled hard the blue and gold were able to finish the first set strong by a score of 25-14 after holding control throughout the set and go up 1-0 in the match.Â
Â
In the second set, the Lancers and Excalibur exchanged points early on especially off of missed serving from both sides. Eventually the Lancers would dial in from the service line when it counted in order to take control of the second set towards the latter half of the set. The blue and gold went on to win the set 25-18 thanks in large part to Gyemi's serves late in the set.Â
Â
In the third set, similarly to the second set both teams traded points early on with strong play from both sides of the net in which Trent kept the margin close. After a phenomenal performance by the home team, it unfortunately came up short when the Lancers put a plug in arguably Trent's best set on the season to date. The Lancers treated their visiting dedicated diehard fans to a great finish on a snowy night in Peterborough.Â
