Windsor comes out on top over host Waterloo

The Windsor Lancers men's basketball team picked up an impressive road win Friday night, besting the Waterloo Warriors 84-70 in Waterloo. 
 
The Lancers grabbed an early lead and never looked back, lifting them to 11-10 on the season heading into the final regular season game tomorrow night at Western.
 
GAME STATS
Shakael Pryce and Jordan Fullerton led the game in scoring with 17 each. Two Lancers double-doubled with Telloy Simon hitting 12 points and 11 rebounds, and Thomas Kennedy chipping in 15 points and 12 rebounds.
 
Nedim Hodzic and Justin Malnerich led Waterloo with 14 each, Hodzic paired his 14 points with 15 boards.
 
The Lancers had quick hands, forcing 12 steals on the night, compared to Waterloo's five.
 
GAME FLOW
The blue and gold got off to a slow start but took over the lead halfway through the first quarter. Led by senior guard Chris Poloniato, the Lancers doubled up on the hosts 20-10 after the first quarter. The Lancers kept their foot on the gas and with some great guard play, the Lancers enjoyed a 43-29 lead at half.
 
The blue and gold continued to pour on the offence, pushing their lead to 19 not even two minutes into the half. Windsor opened the quarter on an enormous 25-11 run lasting the first seven minutes of the frame and were up 75-48 after three. The Warriors made Windsor sweat a little late in the game, but the blue and gold held on for an impressive road win, 84-70.
